Week 32-33: FMP_Project background research

The initial inspiration for this project came from the fact that I am now living in the UK in Europe, and I use this project as the end of my graduate studies in my study abroad career. So I wanted to make a project related to European culture, and I am currently playing the game Age of Empires IV. One of the battles is the Battle of Lincoln, which took place in 1141. This battle took place in Lincoln, England. So I wanted to use visual effects to create a fully virtual 3D animation. This animation will reproduce the battlefield of which battle. At the same time, I want to combine it with the team assignment coin in the second semester. This assignment is to use the back lens of the coin to capture the interesting points, so that the coin can shuttle between different worlds. 2. In my assignment, I still use coins as the main visual entry point to switch different scenes. At the same time, I use coins to represent the abandonment of peace and the inherent cause of war, which is human greed.

The Battle of Lincoln, or the First Battle of Lincoln, occurred on 2 February 1141 in Lincoln, England between King Stephen of England and forces loyal to Empress Matilda. Stephen was captured during the battle, imprisoned, and effectively deposed while Matilda ruled for a short time.

Epic Battlefield: Armies of Medieval Knights Fighting with Swords. Dark Ages Warfare. Action Battle of Armored Warrior Soldiers, Killing Enemies. Cinematic Historical Reenactment.

Age of Empires 4, one of the battles is the Battle of Lincoln (1141)

After deciding on the content of the project, I began to collect relevant background information. First, I searched for historical information and online documents about the Battle of Lincoln on the Internet. More detailed information was found on Wikipedia. At the same time, I combined the levels in the four Age of Empires games with introduction and level background design screens. I pictured a battlefield combined with a castle in my mind.

For this project, I want to use UE5 to produce it, because the UE5 engine can simulate the real environment more realistically and make the picture more cinematic. At the same time, through personal project practice last semester, I deeply realized the advantages of the UE5 engine. This engine has obvious advantages over other software in building terrain and fast real-time rendering.
